Michieletto, Damiano

Born in Venice, Damiano Michieletto made his international debut at the Wexford Opera Festival in 2003 with a highly-acclaimed production of Weinberger’s Svanda Dudák, named Opera Production of the Year by the Irish Times.  In the intervening decade Mr. Michieletto has become one of the most interesting young directors in Europe, North America and Asia. Prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, Mr. Michieletto made his La Scala debut with a thought-provoking production of Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera and, thereafter, returned to the 2013 Salzburg Festival for a highly successful production of Verdi’s Falstaff.
